Statement of Faith
1. One true God – God has revealed Himself as the eternally self existent I am, the Creator of all things and Redeemer of mankind, who is infinitely perfect and manifests as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Isaiah 43:11, Mark 12:29, John 14:7-11, Acts 2:22-39, Ephesians 4:6, Hebrews 1:1-3 and 1John 5:7)
2. The inspired Scriptures - The Scriptures, Old and New Testament, are the inspired Word of God, written by men, by the divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit. They are the revelation of God to man, and the infallible, final authority for all Christian faith, practice and lifestyle.
(Romans 15:4, Hebrews 4:12, and 2Timothy 3:15-17)
3. The deity of Jesus Christ – The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and is God. He is also truly man, referred to in scripture as the Son of Man and the second Adam. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, therefore born not of the seed of Adam, but the seed of God the Father. He was born of the virgin Mary, died on the cross as the sacrifice of sin for all mankind, arose from the dead, ascended into Heaven and is now seated at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest. (Matthew 1:18-25, John 1:1-18, Hebrews 4:14-16)
4. The original sin and fall of man – Man was created by God and given dominion to rule over and subdue the earth, but disobeyed God and fell from grace. From this fall, all creation fell with man and sin entered the world and with it death. (Genesis 1-3, Romans 5:12-21 and Galatians 2:16-20)
5. Salvation by faith – Man sins because he has a sinful nature. Only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection can man find salvation from the power of sin. This salvation and eternal life, a free gift of grace from God, can only be obtained by exercising faith in the Person and finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 5:24, Acts 3:13-26, Acts 4:10-12, Hebrews 5:1-11 and Hebrews 7-10)
6. The new man in Christ – By accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, man becomes a new creature (creation) in the spirit (inward) man. He is born from above and a child of God and co-heir with Christ Jesus in all of the things of God, a partaker of His divine nature. We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:14-16, 2Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 4:1-7, Ephesians 2:10, II Peter 1:4 and 1John 3:1-9)
7. Baptism in the Holy Spirit – The baptism in the Holy Spirit, is to glorify Jesus Christ and to indwell, guide and empower believers for life and service. This baptism brings the gifts of the Holy Spirit and their application to the forefront of the ministry of the Body of Christ. This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the New Birth and is evidenced by the initial physical sign, of speaking with other tongues, as the Spirit of God gives utterance. (Mark 16:17, Acts 1:4-8, Acts 2:1-4, 17-21,33; Acts 4:31, Acts 6:3, Acts 7:55, Acts 8:14-20, Acts 9:17, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 11:16, Acts 19:1-6, 1Corinthians 12:7-11)
8. Divine healing – The redemption provided by Jesus Christ includes more than just the forgiveness of sins. His work on the cross was complete and provided salvation for man’s spirit, soul and body. Healing is an integral part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (Psalm 103:1-5, Isaiah 53:5, Acts 10:38, Galatians 3:13, 1Thessalonians 5:23, 1Peter 2:24 and 3John 2)
9. The Church – the Body of Christ – Christ’s Church, comprised of born again believers, is God’s habitation through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. When believers are born of the Spirit, they are united and knitted together as the Body of Christ and appointed to fulfill the Great Commission. Jesus Christ is both Lord and head of His Church. We believe that God’s plan from the very beginning was for a united family, Jew and Gentile being one new man in Christ, and that this is the complete Body of Christ. (Romans 12:5, 1Corinthians 12:27, Galatians 3:26-29, Ephesians 1: 22-23, Ephesians 2:11-18, Ephesians 4:4 and Ephesians 5:23)
10. Baptism in water – All who believe in Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior are commanded, to be immersed in water as a declaration that they have identified with the death and resurrection of Christ and have been raised with Him in newness of life. (Matt 4:13-17, Matt 28:19, Acts 8:35-39, Acts 9:18, Romans 6:3-6, Galatians 3:27 and Colossians 2:12)
11. The Lord’s Supper – The eating of Christ’s flesh and drinking of his blood is an appropriation of sharing the divine nature and life of the Lord Jesus Christ, as well as a memorial of His suffering, death and resurrection. (Matthew 26:26-28, John 6:32-58, 1Corinthians 11:23-26, 2Peter 1:4, Romans 8:2,11)
12. The Second Coming of Christ – The Second Coming of Christ is the actual, visible return of Christ and those saints who have already fallen asleep. (Revelation 1:7, Acts 1:9-11, 1Thessalonians 3:13)
13. We are committed to any further truths as revealed by the Holy Spirit, from the Word of God, the Holy Scriptures.
